Mcquick's Golf Challenge Donates $1200 to Blackgum Fire Dept.

A weekend of great golf, great prizes, and a great dinner with dance wound up helping the Blackgum Volunteer Fire Dept. $1200. Kim Hutson, owner of McQuick's along with Tenkiller Golf Club organized a successful new event that will turn out to become annual. Over 50 entries with spouses enjoyed the new facilities of the Club.

36 holes of golf was played on Saturday and Sunday in good weather along with an enjoyable dinner of Barbecue cooked by James, Karen and Roy Simmons. Country Comfort, a band from Cookson highlighted the golf tournament playing the evening away in the new pavilion. With all the new improvements being made on Tenkiller Golf Course, Kim thought it would be a great way to kick off the summer season with a fundraiser for the Fire Department. "I appreciate all of the people that helped make this event successful" said Hutson, "There was a lot of work that took place behind the scenes that made it happen."
